This piece was designed for a client who wanted to explore the possibilities of the form of Vietnam as a Pendant. We settled on chemical milling the piece in copper, which unfortunately cost us some edge detail. The liver of sulfur finish gives this graceful, delicate piece more weight. It’s apprx. 2″ long by 1/2″ wide in 24 guage copper.
After I finished the top pendant I was unhappy with the edge quality, so I redesigned the piece as an etched oval, instead. This works better for production purposes, in my mind. The client would like to have 12 identical pendants, eventually, so I will ask if he is willing to go this route instead. I may chance the shape of the oval, so there’s no thinking of those squished pennies that come from machines occasionally.
