Eames Chair Cufflinks

I made these cufflinks for my step-father’s birthday.  He is obsessed with the designs of Charles and Ray Eames, so I wanted to make some simple, abstracted cufflinks based on the chairs of these two design greats.  The chair images is semi obscured under translucent resin, and from afar, just looks like an abstract design…but!  Up close, any true Eames fan will see the chair within the domed cufflink.  I think this combination of specificity and subtelty fits my step-father’s tastes perfectly.  The cufflinks are about 3/4″ in diameter, 1/4″ deep, and with a 1/2″ nickel silver bar to hold each mirrored link in place.  They are mirror finish on the back, and sandblasted underneath the resin.

You got it just right! PS–I love the new shoes too.

Very cool! But that chair wasn’t designed by Eames. It is the coconut chair which was designed by George Nelson (for Herman Miller).
