Badass Enameled Flower Tri-pendant

So it’s been a busy month, but I was finally able to finish up this pendant I’ve been working on forever!  After painstakingly soldering the wire to the sterling silver sheet, I wet packed several layers of enamel and added some tubing for effect.  I based the design on two separate art nouveau wallpaper patterns.  When I’m out of formal ideas I return there often.  The colors, though, are all my own 🙂  The entire piece is about 6″ long, and will hang in three parts.  When it’s assembled on a chain I will add pix on a model…but for now these will have to suffice.  Below are two more in-progress shots.

Hi blog followers!  As you may or may not know I’ve been teaching locally at my home studio – 3rd Ward http://www.3rdward.com  Earlier this year I collaborated with a national company called Sympoz to make an online jewelry class.  I’m happy to announce that the class is finally finished, and ready for you all to sign up!  Check it out at http://www.sympoz.com ,  and in a few months it will move to it’s final home at http://www.craftsy.com  I’ll teach you wire wrapping, pearl knotting, chain making and even photo-etching!  Happy Making 🙂

Brian’s Super Chunk Ring

I just finally made a ring that my boyfriend will actually wear!  This faceted, rough-hewn, cast ring is a nice balance between masculine and flashy.  It also matches one of his other rings in color, so he feels comfortable wearing it daily.  This ring is in silicon bronze, which give it a warmer feel than brass or manganese (yellow) bronze.  Silicon bronze also works better for pour casting operations, which is the way we cast at 3rd Ward, with the help of a vacuum.  I’m going to mould this ring, so I could make one for you and yours, if you like!  Check out a few more shots:

Sneak Preview!

Last week I had a blast filming a new online class for a company called Sympoz (www.sympoz.com).  Eventually, my jewelry class will be posted on Sympoz’s new website for crafts classes.  If you want, I’ll teach you pearl knotting, wire wrapping, chain making and….photo etching!  Here are some shots that our rockstar cinematographer Joe Baran took of sample work for the class (note I’ll be updating earlier posts on this blog and my Etsy with more of Joe’s stellar shots).  More of Joe’s work at his website http://www.workingmansfilm.com  I guess you’ll just have to wait for the class premier to see more of my work 🙂

Shark Teeth Earrings

I sent along the shark teeth necklace, and now, as a birthday gift I’ve made these matching shark teeth earrings.  I hope they’re loved!  They’re just wire wrapped with sterling silver and fresh water pearls, with hinged earwire for stability.  Each earring is about 1/2″ in length, and 1/3″ wide.  I was happy to find two teeth that matched so well – lucky!
