This is a first cast of a carved drawer handle I’ve been working on.  This translucent green resin cast has some flaws – the surface is still sticky for reasons unclear to me, and there are a few bubbles/incomplete areas of the cast.  I’m looking forward to future versions of this organic, elegant piece.  I will send shots of the next cast attached to a drawer, but for scale reference this piece is about 4″ wide by 1″ deep by 2″ tall.  I do intend to cast them in metal in the future as well.  Check out some more snapshots here:

Here’s another attempt at a masculine ring.  This one is oxidized bronze with a roll-printed pattern. I like the mildly pointed shape, and the tapered band for this ring.  Still not sure it’s masculine enough!  It’s been treated with acrylic spray so it’s safe to wear, and is about a size 7.5  Here are a few more shots:

This dainty etched pendant was another attempt at creating a piece for my mother.  Something that could be dressed up or dressed down.  The green aventurine is subtle, and the nearly grey/black color would allow the piece to be worn with almost any color.  Hanging from a 16″ sterling chain, the piece sits nicely with a low neckline or a high, and is lightweight.  The entire dimensions are about 1″ x 3/4″, and the piece is light because it’s only 20 guage copper.  Here are a few more shots:

After loving my last pair of turquoise/etched copper earrings, I decided to make a lighter, more casual, every-day style post.  These small coin-like earrings are lightweight, and treated with clear acrylic spray to make them safe to wear.  The sterling border and bezel gives them a little higher end penache, and allows them to go dressy.  The entire width is about 1/2″.  Check out a few shots of the earrings being worn:

Islamic Pattern Teardrop Pendant

I made this teardrop etched pendant with my mother in mind.  I wanted to make something elegant, with multiple colors, that could be dressed up or dressed down.  Something that she could wear to work, to coffee with friends or out to dinner.  This pendant is copper, with liver of sulfur oxidizing to bring out the pattern.  There are two small bezel set stones – a rose quartz and a small aventurine.  There is also a custom cut-out at the top where the sterling jump ring attaches the pendant to a 16″ sterling chain.  The total size of the drop is about 1″ x 2″  Here’s a shot of the pendant on the body:

I made this ring in an ongoing effort to make a ring my boyfriend will actually wear.  It’s a medium width roll printed bronze band, with liver of sulfur to bring out the pebble/scale pattern.  It is also oxidized on the inside of the band, and treated with clear acrylic spray to keep it wearable.  It is approximately size 7.5.  Here are  a few more snapshots:

I had leftover copper shapes from my last etching class, and was inspired by a student who brought in a book of Turkish Ceramic patterns, and this elegant pair of etched earrings is the result.  I actually found an image of this Islamic Tile Pattern on the internet, and loved the octagonal shape and fine detail.  I was very happy with the etching, and conveniently, somebody left their extra bezel wire in the studio, that happened to look great against some leftover turquoise cabochons I had lying around.  So, from scraps and leftovers, come some lovely earrings!  With a total diameter of about 1″ and a total length of about 2.5″, and all sterling hardware (french earwires) these stunners are my favorite piece of the new year- I can’t wait to wear them out!  Get your own pair at my Etsy, see the link to the left.  Here’s a gallery of other shots of the pair:
